Summary
Captain Tsubasa Tanpenshu: Dream Field is a compilation of some Captain Tsubasa short stories that are not part of the canon of the overall storyline. Coincidentally, all short stories were published in Shueisha's seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump.
- First story. Captain Tsubasa 2000: Millennium Dream. Originally published in 2000, this oneshot was released in commemoration of Japan participation in the football tournament of Sydney 2000. The story is an imaginary match played in the imaginary game Millennium Soccer 2000 where players from the series are seen as participants in a match for the gold medal.
- Second story. Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002 - Final Countdown. Originally published in 2002, this oneshot was released in commemoration of Korea-Japan 2002. The story is about the final test match prior to the Olympics against a Netherlands team full of professional stars led by Brian Cruyfford.
- Third story. Captain Tsubasa: Golden Dream. Originally published in 2004, this two-part story was released in commemoration of the match between Barcelona and Jubilo Iwata that took place on 2004-08-04 at Shizuoka Stadium as part of Barcelona's Asian tour. The story is an imaginary match of a Barça led by Tsubasa against a Jubilo led by Misaki, their first encounter as rivals in the field.
- Fourth story. Captain Tsubasa: Golden-23 - Japan Dream 2006. Originally published in 2006, this oneshot was released in commemoration of Japan participation in Germany 2006. The story is a friendly match between the non-fictional Japan national football team, the "Samurai Blue", against the Captain Tsubasa U-23 Japanese Olympic team, the "Golden-23".
- Fifth story. Captain Tsubasa 25th Anniversary. Originally published in 2005, this five-part story was released in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Captain Tsubasa series. It's an all-star match between Japan against a Rest of the World team. All 48 players, 24 for Japan and 24 for Rest of the World, were selected from all regular series up to that point via a poll in which Karl Heinz Schneider was the most voted character by far.
