Summary
Gamblers have quite a strange way of making calculations. Human collateral who didn't even get the pleasure of spending the money are stuck repaying both debt and interest. Hongjoo has been living like that for the past 15 years, collecting House gambling debts while being tied down as the collateral for his father's debt. One day, a man who says he wants to invest in House appears out of nowhere and Hongjoo's uncertain future changes forever. The wealthy pushover, known to all the residents of House as The Patron, Mukyeong. Mukyeong makes a suspicious offer to let Hongjoo pay back his father's debt with information on House residents. "You're thinking I'm a con artist right now, aren't you?" "No, I'm not." "Sure you are. It's written all over your face. Just one look and a gambler like me can tell." A gambler, huh? Well, it beats having to see these same old faces any longer. For the first time in his uncertain life, Hongjoo grabs onto this (chance at freedom /lifeline). It may be risky, but he's gonna try. It's not like a better chance is coming.
