Summary
Detective Woojin Seo lives in an era where machines can prosecute criminals. Faced with Woojin’s murderous temper and obsession with bringing down the cartels, his supervisors place him under disciplinary probation and begin to rely on the machines to enact justice. But he’s given an opportunity to lift his suspension as an educational navigator to “Magnum,” a military-grade android, that people derogatorily refer to as “C.O.P.” or “Court of Puppet.” Will this unlikely pair have what it takes to defy the dark underbelly of this neon city?
In the near future, a renewable energy source called ‘Aphorium’ becomes the world’s leading power source. This energy revolutionises the fields of biomedical, material, pharmaceutical, and energy engineering and becomes a resource more valuable than gold. However, cartels begin to illegally export ‘Aphorium’ and control its market, using their influence to manipulate governments around the world. Subsequently, the global company ‘Skycaston’ suggests the creation of the I.T.S: Instant Trial System - an android programmed to incarcerate cartel members without needing a trial. The government accepts the proposal and adopts the system. ‘Seo Woojin’, an investigator placed on disciplinary probation, infiltrates a cartel on an independent investigation but breaks his cover to save a fellow detective when he’s in trouble. In turn, Woojin must face the consequences of a failed sting operation and the office makes him an offer. If he can successfully become an educational navigator for the new ‘Magnum’ series of I.T.S military androids, he will be reinstated in his former position. Woojin accepts this offer and continues his cartel investigation with his android partner, Magnum. However, an unexpected conflict appears with the standard I.T.S androids as soon as they start their investigation… A story about an android with the power to prosecute suspects on the spot and a human detective.
